La Posada Magica to Play Odyssey Theatre

Octavio Solis and Marcos Loya’s La Posada Magica, long a holidaytime staple at South Coast Rep in Costa Mesa, will be offered in Los Angeles at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble this year, running December 4-24. Diane Rodriguez, who staged for editions of the piece for SCR, will direct.

The play focuses on a 14-year-old girl, whose faith in God has been called into question following the recent death of her baby brother. When she begins to contemplate sabotaging a Christmas celebration, she rediscovers her faith. The company will include Denise Blasor, Sol Castillo, Gloria Garayua, Crissy Guerrero, Carla Jimenez, Benito Martinez, Lorenzo Martinez, Erica Ortega, Kevin Sifuentes, and Tiffany Solano.
