Justin Bartha, Hugh Dancy, Josh Gad, Victor Garber, Julie White Set for New NBC Series

NBC has announced its 2012-2013 schedule.

The network has ordered 12 new series, include The New Normal, Ryan Murphy and Allison Adler's comedy, which centers on a gay couple, to be played by Justin Bartha and Tony Award nominee Andrew Rannells, and Goldie (Georgina King), the woman who becomes their surrogate as they start a family. Tony Award winner Ellen Barkin has also been cast in the series as Goldie's grandmother.

The network has also ordered the comedy Go On starring Matthew Perry and Tony Award winners Laura Benanti and Julie White; Do No Harm, a medical drama featuring Steven Pasquale, Michael Esper, and Phylicia Rashad; 1600 Penn, about a family in the White House, starring Broadway veterans Josh Gad, Andre Holland, and Bill Pullman;Save Me, which stars Broadway veteran and Daytime Emmy Award winner Anne Heche as a Midwestern housewife who has a direct line to God; and Animal Practice, starring Justin Kirk as an unorthodox veterinarian.

Also on the schedule are Hannibal, starring Hugh Dancy as a criminal profiler who teams up with a psychiatrist/serial killer; Next Caller; about a radio show, starring Dane Cook and Jeffrey Tambor; Chicago Fire, an ensemble drama that will feature stage veterans David Eigenberg and Merle Dandridge; Revolution, a fantasy drama which will feature Giancarlo Esposito and Tim Guinee in its cast; Infamous, a murder mystery co-starring Victor Garber and Tate Donovan; and Guys With Kids, a comedy about three 30something dads that will co-star Broadway veteran Jamie-Lynn Sigler and is directed by Scott Ellis.

While NBC has renewed the musical drama Smash, it is not part of the network's fall schedule. In addition, the network has ordered a 14th season of Law & Order: SVU, for which playwright Warren Leight is the showrunner. The series stars Mariska Hargitay as Detective Olivia Benson.

Other returning shows, either in 2012 or 2013, include The Voice, The Office, Parks & Recreation, Community, Fashion Star, and 30 Rock.
