Corrie! to Tour UK in 2011

Corrie!, the stage show version of the U.K. soap opera Coronation Street, will go on a six-month UK tour, beginning in February, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. Fiona Buffini will direct the production.

As previously reported, Jonathan Harvey, who currently writes for the television show, has penned the stage adaptation, which will condense storylines from the last 50 years of the series, which is set in the fictional town of Weatherfield and focuses on the lives of its everyday characters.

The company will feature Bet Lynch, Elsie Tanner, Hilda Ogden, Ken Barlow, Jack Duckworth, and Gail Platt. In addition, former Coronation Street stars will be appearing at each performance in the role of the narrator.
