Richard Coyle, Jodhi May to Star in Mark Haddon’s Polar Bears at Donmar Warehouse

Stage and screen stars Richard Coyle and Jodhi May will appear in the world premiere of Mark Haddon’s Polar Bears, April 1 – May 22 at the Donmar Warehouse. Jamie Lloyd will direct the production.

Polar Bears is the first play from Mark Haddon, the award-winning author of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. It focuses on a man’s struggle to love, support and live with a woman suffering from a psychological condition. The creative team will include Soutra Gilmour (production design), Jon Clark (lighting design), and Ben and Max Ringham (sound design).

Coyle’s stage credits include Proof, opposite Gwyneth Paltrow, and After Miss Julie with Kelly Reilly at the Donmar. He’s also been seen in Look Back in Anger, The York Realist, Don Carlos and, most recently in the West End, the Pinter double bill of The Lover and The Collection. Coyle’s many screen credits include Coupling, Whistleblowers, Strange, The Best Man, and Gunpowder, Plot and Treason.

On stage, May has been seen in Blackbird, The Talking Cure and Platonov. On screen, she’s been seen in Flashbacks of a Fool, Defiance, Emma, The Amazing Mrs Pritchard, The Best Man, The Other Boleyn Girl, and The House of Mirth.
