About This Venue
Since the Donmar began life as a not-for-profit producing house under the artistic direction of Sam Mendes in October 1992, the theater has asserted itself as a leader in London?s performing arts community.

Deliberately embracing a diverse and daring body of work, the Donmar has been able to create an award-winning program ? premiering new work alongside bold interpretations of contemporary classics and small-scale musicals within the intimate 250-seat auditorium. This unique combination, coupled with their commitment to producing innovative, challenging work, of exceptional caliber has enabled them to attract some of the world?s most gifted artists to their stage, and has earned the theater a world-wide reputation for excellence.
