Scott Bakula Set for Menier Chocolate Factory’s Terrible Advice

Scott Bakula will join Sharon Horgan, Andy Nyman and Caroline Quentin in the world premiere of Saul Rubinek’s Terrible Advice, at the Menier Chocolate Factory, September 22-November 12. Frank Oz will direct.

In the play, Stanley (Stinky to his friends) and Jake are best friends. Hedda and Delila are best friends. Jake loves Hedda; Stinky loves Delila. Stinky plans to marry Delila. . . until Jake shares some secrets and then gives him some advice. . .

The production will be designed by David Farley with lighting design by Paul Anderson and sound design by David Ogilvy.

Bakula, who will play Jake, received a Tony Award nomination for Romance/Romance. Other theatrical credits include the Broadway production of Marilyn an American Fable, Shenandoah at the Ford Theatre in D.C., The Quality of Life at the Geffen Playhouse, and Guys and Dolls at the Hollywood Bowl. He received four Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award for his starring role in the TV series Quantum Leap, starred on television as Captain Jonathan Archer in Star Trek: Enterprise, and currently can be seen on the TNT series Men of a Certain Age.

Oz is well known for his creative collaborations with the famed Jim Henson on projects such as Sesame Street, Saturday Night Live and The Muppet Show, and performed the Jedi Master, Yoda, in all of the Star Wars films. He has directed The Dark Crystal (with Jim Henson), The Muppets Take Manhattan, Little Shop of Horrors, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, What About Bob, Indian in the Cupboard, Bowfinger, The Stepford Wives and the original Death at a Funeral.
