The National Theatre of Great Britain has announced upcoming show titles for its third season of NT LIVE, an initiative to broadcast live performances from the National’s stages to cinemas worldwide.
On September 15, Nicholas Hytner’s production of One Man, Two Guvnors — based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, with songs by Grant Olding — will be broadcast. James Corden stars.
On October 6, NT Live will present Arnold Wesker’s black comedy The Kitchen, set in a restaurant in 1950s London, directed by Bijan Sheibani, and featuring an ensemble cast of 29 actors.
On December 1 will be Collaborators, a new play by John Hodge, and directed by Nicholas Hytner. The play centers on an imaginary encounter between Joseph Stalin and the playwright Mikhail Bulgakov, and stars Alex Jennings and Simon Russell Beale.
On March 1, 2012 will be Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, directed by Dominic Cooke, and starring Lenny Henry.
