Jenny Seagrove, Dawn Steele Set for U.K. Tour of Noel Coward’s Volcano
Casting has been announced for a U.K. tour of Noel Coward’s Volcano, which will launch with an engagement at Theatre Royal, Windsor, running May 21 – June 2. Roy Marsden will direct the production.
Additional tour venues include Richmond Theatre (June 4-9), Theatre Royal, Bath (June 11-16), Arts Theatre, Cambridge (June 18-23), Devonshire Park, Eastbourne (June 25-30), Severn Theatre, Shrewsbury (July 2-7), Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre (July 9-14), Playhouse, Oxford (July 16-21) Theatre Royal, Brighton (July 23-28), Churchill Theatre, Bromley (July 30 – August 4), and Festival Theatre, Malvern (August 6-11).
The play, never produced in Coward’s lifetime, centers on a woman, recently widowed, who finds herself being seduced by a suave visitor to her elegant Caribbean house on the side of an island volcano. A situation that’s only made more complicated by the arrive of his acid-tongued wife and the widow’s best friend who’s also falling for him.
The company will feature Jenny Seagrove, Dawn Steele, Jason Durr, Finty Williams, Perdita Avery, Robin Sebastian, and Tim Daish.
