Rock of Ages to Play West End’s Shaftesbury Theatre, Beginning in August

Rock of Ages will begin previews at the West End’s Shaftesbury Theatre on August 31, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. An opening date as well as casting for the production will be announced in the near future.

The musical, with a book by Chris D’Arenzio, focuses on a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who meet in 1987 at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise. The score includes the hit songs of iconic rockers like REO Speedwagon, Journey, Styx, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more.

The Broadway production, which will resume performances at the Helen Hayes Theatre on March 24, has been directed by Kristin Hanggi and features choreography by Kelly Devine.
