David Suchet will reprise his portrayal of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot for a series of movies for ITV in 2012.

The films will all be based on the remaining Poirot novels and short stories yet to be filmed. The titles scheduled to go into production in the coming year are Labours of Hercules, Dead Man’s Folly, The Big Four, Elephants Can Remember, and Curtain.

Suchet’s many stage appearances include last season’s West End revival of All My Sons, along with Complicit, The Last Confession, Amadeus, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and Oleanna. As previously reported, he and Laurie Metcalf will co-star in a revival of Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night at the West End’s Apollo Theatre in 2012.
