Russia’s Vakhtangov Theatre is set to present its modern interpretation of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, November 5-10 at the Noel Coward Theatre as part of Russian Season in the West End, an International Theatre Platform aiming to bring the best of Russian theater to London. Rimas Tuminas will direct.

This production of Uncle Vanya does away with the cozy Chekhovian mansion and feeling of home and instead focuses on turning daily live into poetry.

The cast will feature Sergey Makovetsky, Vladimir Simonov, Ludmila Maksakova, Vladimir Vdovichenkov, and Galina Konovalova.

The design team will include Adomas Yatsovskis (set design), and composer Faustas Latenas (original music).
