The nominees for the MTM:UK Musical Awards have been announced. The prizes, which recognize excellence in musical theater at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, will be presented in a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, August 24 at George Square Theatre in Edinburgh.

Elizabeth Swados and Cecilia Rubino's musical From the Fire, about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory tragedy, has received nominations in all five award categories: Best Production, Best Book, Best New Music, Best Lyrics and Best New Musical.

Other nominated musicals include Addison Axe, Chris Barton and Max Barton's Hamlet House of Horror and John and Gerry Kielty's Wasted Love, which have received four nominations apiece, including ones for Best New Musical. The other shows nominated in this latter category are Lillia and Scary Gorgeous.
