Creel received a 2009 Tony nomination for his starring role as Claude in Hair, which he also reprised for the musical's London production. He received an additional Tony nomination for Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2002, with other credits including Bert in the West End production of Mary Poppins and Jean-Michel in the 2004 Broadway revival of La Cage Aux Folles.
