Avery Brooks will offer a one-weekend-only engagement of Philip Hayes Dean’s Paul Robeson at the Conant Performing Arts Center, running March 24-27.
The show chronicle’s Robeson’s life on and off the stage. Ernie Scott will also be featured, playing Robeson’s longtime pianist, Lawrence Brown.
Brooks has performed Paul Robeson on Broadway and in theaters around the country. He has also played the famed performer and activist in Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been? in productions both on and Off-Broadway. Brooks may be best known for playing Captain Sisko on StarTrek: Deep Space Nine. Among his other film and television credits are American History X and Spenser: For Hire.
