 | | Tom Kenaston | Palm Beach Dramaworks will present Stephen Temperley's play with music, Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins, at their downtown Studio Theatre, July 2-August 24. Directed by J. Barry Lewis, the production will have an official opening of July 5.
The play is a comedy surrounding the musical career of Florence Foster Jenkins, a wealthy New York society eccentric of the 30's and 40's. Told in flashbacks, from the point of view of her long-time accompanist, the play explores a unique artist who suffered under the delusion that she was a great coloratura soprano.
This production will star Elizabeth Dimon as Florence Foster Jenkins, and Tom Kenaston as her musical director. The creative team will include Michael Amico (set design), and Erin Amico (costume design).
