Stephen R. Buntrock, Eleasha Gamble, Rebecca Luker, and Euan Morton will perform a musical tribute to Bernadette Peters, who as previously reported is the recipient of the Arlington, Virginia-based Signature Theatre's 2011 Stephen Sondheim Award. The award gala -- which will benefit Signature Theatre's numerous artistic, education, and community programs -- will be held at the Embassy of Italy on Monday, April 11.

The award was established in honor of America's most influential contemporary musical theater writer and composer. Last year's recipient was stage, screen, and television icon Angela Lansbury.

Peters recently appeared in the Broadway revival of Sondheim's A Little Night Music, and will be playing Sally Durant Plummer in the Kennedy Center's production of the composer/lyricist's Follies in May. The actress has also been seen in the original companies of Sondheim's Sunday in the Park With George and Into the Woods in addition to starring in the 2003 Broadway revival of Gypsy, which has lyrics by Sondheim and music by Jule Styne. She has won two Tony Awards: for her performances in Song and Dance and Annie Get Your Gun.
