Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp to Star in 2009 Tour of Rent

Pascal originated the role of singer-songwriter Roger, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor; Rapp created the role of documentary filmmaker Mark. Both actors played these parts in the show's original Off-Broadway production at New York Theatre Workshop and recreated them for the film version of the musical. The duo returned to Rent on Broadway for a limited engagement in the summer of 2007.

Tours of Rent have crisscrossed North America almost continuously since late 1996, and the musical has been translated into every major language and been performed on six continents. The current national tour will conclude its run in June 2008. A full route for the tour beginning in 2009 will be announced at a later date.

Written by Jonathan Larson, Rent won four Tony Awards in 1996, including Best Musical, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
