Lillian Castillo, Felicia Fields, Michael Lindner Set for Drury Lane’s Hairspray

Drury Lane Theatre has announced casting for Hairspray, to run April 12 – June 17. Tammy Mader will direct and choreograph the production, which will have music direction by Malcolm Ruhl.

Based on the classic film by John Waters, Hairspray features music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman and a book by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan. Set in 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, plump teenager Tracy Turnblad wins a role on a local TV dance program, becomes a celebrity overnight, and launches a campaign to integrate the show.

The company will feature Lillian Castillo as Tracy Turnblad, Michael Lindner as Edna Turnblad, Felicia Fields as Motormouth Maybelle, Tim Kazurinsky as Wilbur Turnblad, Erik Altemus as Link Larkin, Holly Lyn Laurent as Amber, Jon Michael Reese as Seaweed J. Stubbs, Joshlyn Lomax as Little Inez, Rebecca Pink as Penny, Holly Stauder as Prudy Pingleton, Rod Thomas as Corny Collins, Keely Vasquez as Velma Von Tussle, and George Andrew Wolff as Harriman F. Spitzer, along with Alexis J. Rodgers, Lisa Estridge and Donica Lynn as “The Dynamites.”

The ensemble will include Christopher Carter, Andrea Collier, Dina DiCostanzo, Jackson Evans, Reneisha Jone’ne Jenkins, Tiffany Johnson, Alex McCrary, Amy Orman, Nelson Green, Thomas Ortiz, Travis Porchia, Carly Robinson, Sawyer Smith, and Sean Walton.

The creative team will be comprised of scenic designer Marcus Stephens, lighting designer Charlie Cooper, costume designer Kurt Alger, and sound designer Ray Nardelli.
