Trap Door Theatre Announces Casting for They Are Dying Out

Trap Door Theatre has announced casting for Peter Handke’s They Are Dying Out, translated by Michael Roloff, to run February 16 – March 24. Max Truax will direct the production.

The play centers on a business mogul, who, knowing that it is impossible for him to live up to his own ideal image of himself, becomes an amoral monster, both personally and professionally.

The company will feature Antonio Brunetti, Casey Chapman, Jeremy Clark, Kevin Cox, Kasey Foster, Alex Levin, Holly Thomas, and Sam Quinn.

The creative team will include scenic designer Mike Mroch, lighting designer Eric Van Tassell, costume designer Tonette Navarro, and sound designer Jonathan Guillen.

In related news, the company has announced that Brunetti and Thomas, along with Gerladine Dulex and Nicole Wiesner, will be featured in a free reading of Maria Ndiaya’s Hilda, to be offered on February 6 at 5pm at the Schmidt Academic Center. Beata Pilch will direct the piece, which centers on a ruthless woman, who’s fascinated by her maid and explores delicate balance of between the two.
