Lili-Anne Brown, Sean Graney, Deirdre O’Connor Among 2012 Jeff Non-Equity Award Nominees

The nominations for the 2012 Non-Equity Jeff Awards have been announced. The awards will be presented in a ceremony to be held on June 4 at Park West.

Among the nominees is Sean Graney, who has received a nomination for his direction of Sophocles: Seven Sicknesses at The Hypocrites. Graney has also been nominated in the New Adaptation category for the play, and the piece has been nominated in the Production – Play category, alongside Redtwist Theatre’s Opus, Griffin Theatre Company’s Punk Rock, and Trap Door Theatre’s The Word Progress on My Mother’s Lips Doesn’t Ring True, as well as Red Light Winter and Superior Donuts, produced by Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co.

In musical categories, Lili-Anne Brown has been nominated for her direction of Passing Strange at Bailiwick Chicago, The show, along with Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre’s The Light in the Piazza and Pump Boys and Dinnettes and Griffin Theatre Company’s Spring Awakening.

Among the performers who have been nominated in principal actor/actress categories are Jayson “JC” Brooks, Dan Behrendt, Courtney Crouse, Joey DeBettencourt, Harmony France, Jacqueline Grandt, Brian Grey, Kelli Harrington, Katherine Keberlein, Melanie Keller, Rachel Klippel, Eileen Niccolai, Peter Oyloe, Steven Perkins, Brian Plocharczyk, Creg Sclavi, Chuck Sisson, Stacy Stolz, Andrew Burden Swanson, and Preston Tate.

The 2012 Jeff Non-Equity Award nominations for New Work are Shepsu Aakhu’s Speaking in Tongues, Keith Josef Adkins’ The Last Saint on Sugar Hill, Scott Barsotti, Molly Each, Laura Eason, Brian Golden, Kristin Idaszak, Kim Morris, Nick Ward and Doug Whippo’s We Live Here, Lucas Neff The Last Duck, and Deirdre O’Connor’s Assisted Living.
