Goodman to Premiere Naomi Iizuka’s Ghostwritten

The Goodman Theatre will present the world premiere of Naomi Iizuka’s Ghostwritten in its Owen Bruner Theatre, April 4-May 3. Lisa Portes will direct.

The play tells the story of Susan, a young American woman who travels to Vietnam, makes a deal with a mysterious woman, and then must grapple with her family’s thorny past when the woman comes to collect on her debt. The work will be presented as part of the Goodman’s “Strong Women, Strong Voices” series, focused on presenting and supporting work by women.

Iizuka’s other plaus include Strike-Slip, 36 Views, Anon(ymous), Hamlet: Blood in the Brain, At the Vanishing Point, and Polaroid Stories.
