Carey Mulligan and Bill Nighy make their long-awaited returns to Broadway tonight, April 2, as David Hare's Skylight opens at the John Golden Theatre. Directed by Stephen Daldry and costarring Matthew Beard, the production began previews March 13 and will run through June 21. This revival originated at Wyndham's Theatre on London's West End in summer 2014.

Mulligan, an Academy Award nominee for the film An Education, plays Kyra Hollis, a London schoolteacher who, on a wintry evening, receives a visit from her former lover, restaurateur Tom Sergeant (Nighy), whose wife has recently died. As they attempt to rekindle their relationship, they must contend with conflicting ideologies that stand in the way. Matthew Beard completes the cast as Tom's college-age son, Edward.
