The new Broadway concert experience Rocktopia celebrated its opening night on March 27 at the Broadway Theatre.

Developed over eight years, Rocktopia is "inspired by the idea that if Beethoven or Mozart were alive today, they would be modern-day rock stars." Created by recording artist Rob Evan (Jekyll & Hyde) and Maestro Randall Craig Fleischer, the show features works by Mozart, Queen, Beethoven, Journey, Handel, U2, Tchaikovsky, Pink Floyd, Heart, Rachmaninoff, Foreigner, Copland, the Who, and more.

Featured vocalists include Rob Evan, Chloe Lowery, Tony Vincent, Kimberly Nichole, and Alyson Cambridge, as well as Celtic violinist Máiréad Nesbitt, guitarist Tony Bruno, a five-piece rock band, a 20-piece orchestra, and a 40-member choir. The opening night company featured special guest Pat Monahan of the band Train, who will appear in the show through April 8. Special guests also include Twisted Sister's Dee Snider (April 9-15) and Cheap Trick's Robin Zander (April 23-29).
