The popular board game Monopoly is on track to make its Broadway debut. Monopoly: The Musical will be the first-ever stage venture in a new partnership between Hasbro, Inc. and the Araca Group.

The Araca Group has produced the Broadway productions of Urinetown, Disgraced, and Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune. It is currently a coproducer on Wicked. Hasbro's many brands include My Little Pony, Nerf, Transformers, Magic: The Gathering, and Play-Doh, among others.

"Monopoly is one of the most iconic gaming brands of all time," Simon Waters, Hasbro's General Manager & Senior Vice President of Entertainment & Consumer Products, said in a statement. "Hasbro is dedicated to delivering new and exciting ways for consumers to interact with all of our brands, and this stage adaptation will do just that."

No timeline has been set for the production, for which a creative team and cast are still to be announced.
