Jason Mraz has extended his run as Dr. Pomatter in the Broadway production of Waitress through February 11, two weeks beyond his previously announced end date of January 28. Mraz, consequently, will get two additional weeks to star opposite the show's Tony Award-nominated composer Sara Bareilles, who stars as Jenna from January 16-February 25. Due to previous contractual obligations, Mraz will not be in the show on February 1 or 2, and Drew Gehling, who originated the role of Dr. Pomatter on Broadway, will return to the role on February 13.

Waitress tells the story of Jenna, an expert pie maker in a small town, who dreams of a way out of her loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a new life, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes to happiness. But Jenna must find the courage and strength within herself to rebuild her life. This American musical celebrates friendship, motherhood, and the magic of a well-made pie.

Based upon the 2007 motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress features a book by Jessie Nelson, a score by six-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, choreography by Lorin Latarro and direction by Tony winner Diane Paulus.

The cast of Waitress currently stars Betsy Wolfe as Jenna, Jason Mraz as Dr. Pomatter, Christopher Fitzgerald as Ogie, Caitlin Houlahan as Dawn, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Becky, Will Swenson as Earl, Benny Elledge as Cal, and John Cullum as Joe.
