The Broadway cast of Chicago will welcome back veterans Carly Hughes (Pippin) and Amy Spanger (Rock of Ages) for brief engagements this summer.

Hughes will reprise her performance as Velma Kelly for 16 performances from August 22-September 4 during Amra Faye Wright’s hiatus from the production while Spanger returns to the role of Roxie Hart for a two-week engagement from August 4-16.

Chicago currently stars Amra Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Grammy Award winner Brandy Norwood as Roxie Hart (through August 2), Ivan Hernandez as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. The current revival production is now in its 19th year on Broadway.
