 | | Chazz Palminteri | Chazz Palminteri's solo show, A Bronx Tale has extended its run at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theater for two weeks, until February 24, and added Sunday shows at 7pm for the remainder of December.
The production is directed by Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks.
Palminteri, who wrote the show, plays 18 roles in the semi-autobiographical tale about growing up in the Bronx. He first performed the show in small theaters in L.A. in 1989 before bringing it to New York for an Off-Broadway run. An expanded version of the play was turned into a 1993 film starring Palminteri and Robert De Niro, who also directed.
Palminteri's last stage appearance was the 2002 Off-Broadway production of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui. He received an Oscar nomination for Bullets Over Broadway; his other film credits include Hurlyburly, The Usual Suspects, and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints.
