The Broadway production of Keith Huff's two-character play A Steady Rain at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre has broken box office records for its first two full weeks of performances. The production, which will open officially on September 29, stars Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman as pair of Chicago cops and is directed by John Crowley.

For the week ending September 20, the production grossed $1,167,954, and for the week ending September 27, the production grossed $1,153,779. The highest gross for a non-musical was previously Billy Crystal's 700 Sundays with $1,061,688 for the week ending May 22, 2005.

The show's creative team includes Scott Pask (sets and costumes), Hugh Vanstone (lighting), and Mark Bennett (sound and music composition). Crowley received a Tony Award nomination for The Pillowman; his many other credits include On an Average Day, Macbeth and Shadows.

Craig's stage credits include Angels in America, Hurlyburly, and A Number. He is best known for playing James Bond in the films Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Jackman won the Tony Award, among other honors, for his portrayal of Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz, and he received an Olivier Award nomination for Oklahoma!. He is well-known for playing Wolverine in the X-Men series of films, and has hosted both the Academy Awards and the Tony Awards, winning an Emmy Award for the latter.
