Joe DiPietro, the bookwriter and co-lyricist of Broadway’s Memphis, will join that show’s stars Montego Glover and Chad Kimball to discuss the musical at WNYC’s The Greene Space, on Monday, April 5, at 7pm.

Memphis is based on a concept by George W. George and also features music and lyrics by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan. Set in the segregated South of the 1950s, the musical follows the fictionalized life story of white radio disc jockey Huey Calhoon (Kimball), who falls in love with both rock & roll and an electrifying black singer, Felicia Farrell (Glover).

Celeste Headlee will lead a discussion that goes behind the scenes and into the musical and social landscape that Memphis explores.
