Jacob Clemente to Play Title Role in Broadway’s Billy Elliot

Jacob Clemente will join the cast of the Broadway production of Billy Elliot the Musical, at the Imperial Theatre. He will be one of the actors rotating in the title role of the show, with his first performance date to be announced.

Based on the 2000 film of the same name, the show tells the tale of a young boy with a dream of being a dancer. The show won 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, Billy Elliot also features Michael Dameski, Alex Ko, Liam Redhead, and Dayton Tavares as Billy; Kate Hennig as Mrs. Wilkinson; Philip Whitchurch as Dad; Carole Shelley as Grandma; Will Chase as Tony; and Trevor Braun and Jake Evan Schwencke as Michael.

Clemente, aged 12, previously performed the role of Tall Boy in Billy Elliot, and also appeared on Broadway as a Newsboy in the Patti LuPone revival of Gypsy. He will be the ninth boy to perform the role of Billy in the Broadway production.
