Jeremy Jordan will once again star as rebellious newsboy leader Jack Kelly when the musical Newsies makes its Broadway premire at the Nederlander Theatre, with performances beginning March 15 in anticipation of a March 29 opening.

Featuring music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and a book by Harvey Fierstein, Newsies is adapted for the stage from the live-action Disney feature film musical, inspired by the real life “Newsboy Strike of 1899.” The stage show was seen at Paper Mill Playhouse in 2011, with Jordan receiving critical acclaim for creating the role of Jack Kelly in that production.

The actor most recently starred on Broadway as Clive Barrow in Bonnie & Clyde earlier this season, with other Main Stem credits including Rock of Ages and West Side Story. He will be seen opposite Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton in film musical Joyful Noise, which opens in movie theaters on January 13.

Additional casting for Newsies will be announced at a later date.
