Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal will star in an upcoming national tour of A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters, which follows the recent Broadway production. Broadway director Gregory Mosher will also helm the tour, which begins this summer.

A Pulitzer Prize finalist, Love Letters explores the friendship of rebellious artist Melissa Gardner and straightlaced lawyer-turned-politician Andrew Makepeace Ladd III through the letters they write to each other over the course of 50 years.

Mosher's Broadway production featured a rotating cast of Broadway and Hollywood veterans, including Brian Dennehy and Mia Farrow, who opened the production on September 13, as well as Carol Burnett and Brian Dennehy, and Alan Alda and Candice Bergen.

The tour of Love Letters will visit Los Angeles, Detroit, Boston, Dallas, and Baltimore, with more cities to be announced.

Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal are known for their roles in the 1970 romantic drama Love Story, which follows a young couple's doomed romance.
