David Wilson Barnes and Jennifer Westfeldt to Star in The Power of Duff at the Huntington

Stephen Belber will bring his new drama to the Boston stage.

Playwright Stephen Belber will present the New England premiere of his new drama, The Power of Duff, at Boston’s Huntington Theatre Company. The play will be produced in association with New York Stage and Film and Vassar’s Powerhouse Theater. Performances are scheduled to run from October 11-November 16 at the Calderwood Pavilion, with an official opening set for October 23.

Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois directs the drama about a news anchor who has an unexpected spiritual awakening on live television. The production will star David Wilson Barnes (Becky Shaw) and Jennifer Westfeldt (The Explorers Club), who performed with the show at New York Stage and Film and at Vassar’s Powerhouse Theater. The Huntington production will also feature Amy Pietz (The Office, Caroline in the City), Ben Cole (One Slight Hitch), Noah Galvin (Burnt Part Boys), Brendan Griffin (Clybourne Park), Joe Paulik (Twelfth Night), and Obie Award winner Russell G. Jones (Ruined), who also reprises his role.

The creative team features scenic design by Tony nominee David Rockwell (Kinky Boots), costume design by Bobby Frederick Tilley II, lighting design by Rui Rita, sound design by M.L. Dogg, and projection design by Aaron Rhyne.
