Joyce DeWitt to Headline All Shook Up at North Shore Music Theatre

Television star and stage veteran Joyce DeWitt will be featured in the North Shore Music Theatre production of All Shook Up, to run August 14-26. Russell Garrett will direct, with choreography by Kiesha LaLama and musical direction by Anne Shuttlesworth.

The musical comedy, which is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, tells the story of a guitar playing roustabout, Chad, who rides into a struggling square Midwest town and changes it forever with the power of love and rock-and-roll.

The musical is written by Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro, and features such classic hit Elvis Presley songs as “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Burning Love”, “Jailhouse Rock”, “Blue Suede Shoes”, “It’s Now or Never”, “Don’t Be Cruel” and “Fools Rush In.”

The cast will also feature Dara Hartman (Natalie/Ed), Ryan Overberg (Chad), Eric Hatch (Dean), John Hillner (Jim Haller), Jannie Jones (Sylvia), Paul Sabala (Dennis), LaQuet Sharnell (Lorraine), and J.T. Turner (Sheriff Earl, Warden) .


The ensemble will include Matt Allen, Amanda Bailey, Michael Campayno, Andrea Collier, Marlana Dunn, Rachel Fairbanks, Jesse Jones, Joshua Keith, Joe Moeller, Kyle McAdam, and Mia Michelle McClain.


DeWitt, who will play Mayor Matilda Hyde, is best known for her starring role as Janet Wood on the ABC sit-com Three’s Company. Her previous theater credits include Love Letters, It’s Connecticut, Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating and Marriage!, A Scattered, Smothered and Covered Christmas Musical, Dinner With Friends and The Last Night of Ballyhoo.


The creative team will include Bert Scott (scenic designer), Paula Peasley-Ninestein (costume designer), David Neville (lighting designer), and Leon Rotherberg (sound designer).
