Operated by Celebrity Series' Arts, Education and Community Program, AileyCamp was founded by the late Alvin Ailey and the Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey in 1989. A full scholarship summer day camp for 11-14 year olds, the program uses dance as a vehicle for developing self-esteem, self-discipline, creative expression, and critical thinking skills.
The camp culminates in a final performances which will take place August 9 at 7pm at the Strand Theatre.
