Barrington Stage has announced that it has extended its production of Matthew Lopez's The Whipping Man, originally set to close on the BSC's Stage 2 on June 14, for four additional performances. It will now conclude its run on Thursday, June 17, following the 7:30pm show.

The play is set at the end of the Civil War, and concerns a Jewish Confederate soldier who returns home to Richmond to be greeted by his two black servants, reared Jewish and now free men. Christopher Innvar directs the production, which features Clarke Peters, LeRoy McClain, and Nick Westrate.
