Titus Andronicus Begins Performances at Synetic Theater
Paata Tsikurishvili directs the 13th production in his Wordless Shakespeare series.
Titus Andronicus begins performances tonight at Synetic Theatre.
Directed by Paata Tsikurishvili, Titus Andronicus will be the 13th installation of his Wordless Shakespeare series. The production is one Synetic Theatre has said the Tsikurishvili will "sink his teeth into this revenge-driven tragedy and tell the bloody tale of Titus and Tamora with all of the fiery passion, energy, and vengeance only Synetic Theater can deliver."
Featured in the cast are Philip Fletcher (Titus), Irina Tsikurishvili (Tamora), Irina Kavsadze (Lavinia), Audrey Tchoukoua (Aaron), Dallas Tolentino (Demetrius), Alex Mills (Chiron), Dan Istrate (Saturninus), Tori Bertocci (Marcia), Chris Galindo (Lucius), Scott Whalen (Bassianus), Nutsa Tediashvili (Nurse, ensemble), Scott Turner (Alarbus, ensemble), and Matt Stover (Quintus, ensemble). Megan Khaziran and Suzy Alden complete the ensemble.
Adapted by Emily Whitworth, Titus Andronicus features choreography by Irina Tsikurishvili, assistant direction and fight choreography by Vato Tsikurishvili, movement direction from Alex Mills, and music by Koki Lortkipanidze. The creative team includes Phil Charlwood (scenic design and technical direction), Brian Allard (lighting design), Erik Teague (costume design), Thomas Sowers (sound design and audio engineering), and Patti Kalil (properties). Tori Bertocci and Nathan Weinberger are creative assistants, and Marley Giggey is the production stage manager.
