Bruce Dow, Adam Green, Floyd King, Nancy Robinette Set for Shakespeare Theatre Company Shows logo

The Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced casting for its first two mainstage productions of the 2012-2013 season. The Government Inspector will run September 13-October 28 at the Lansburgh Theatre, directed by Michael Kahn. Then, Ethan McSweeny will direct A Midsummer Night's Dream, running November 15-December 30 at Sidney Harman Hall.

Nikolai Gogol's The Government Inspector, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, is a satire of provincial Russian bureaucracy. The cast will feature Floyd King (the Postmaster), Nancy Robinette (Anna), David Sabin (the Judge), Derek Smith (Hlestakov), Tom Story (the Doctor), Claire Brownell (Marya), Liam Craig (Osip), Rick Foucheux (the Mayor), Sarah Marshall (Grusha/Innkeeper's Wife/Corporal's Widow), Hugh Nees (Bobchinsky), Lawrence Redmond (the Hospital Director), Craig Wallace (the School Principal), and Harry Winter (Dobchinsky).

Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream tells the story of mismatched lovers Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius and Helena who flee to the forest outside Athens, but run into a supernatural squabble that will alter their destinies forever. The cast will include Adam Green (Puck), Ted van Griethuysen (Peter Quince), Robert Beitzel (Lysander), Christopher Bloch (Starveling), Robert Dorfman (Snug), Bruce Dow (Bottom), Susannah Flood (Helena), David Graham Jones (Francis Flute), Chris Myers (Demetrius), Amelia Pedlow (Hermia), Lawrence Redmond (Egeus), John Tillotson (Tom Snout), and Sara Topham (Hippolyta/ Titania) as well as ensemble members Maxwell Balay, John Bambery, Jacqui Jarrold, Joe Mallon, Max Reinhardsen, Rohan Saxena, Gracie Terzian, Jessica Thorne, and Katherine Turner.
