Full casting has been announced for Imagination Stage‘s production of Disney’s Mulan, which will run November 25 – January 10. Janet Stanford will direct the production which will be the area professional premiere of the musical based on the 1998 animated film.
The show features music and lyrics by artists including Matthew Wilder, David Zippel, Stephen Schwartz, Jeanine Tesori, Alexa Junge, and Bryan Louiselle, and has a book by Patricia Cotter. The source material for the story is the book Fa Mulan by Robert D. San Souci, about a Chinese girl, Mulan, who explodes cultural rules and expectations and becomes a warrior.
The company will feature Manna Nichols in the title role along with Florrie Bagel, Toni Rae Brotons, Michael Cafarelli, Nathaniel Claridad, Matt Dewberry, Ricardo Frederick Evans, Ayanna Hardy, Keith Irby, Vaughn Irving, and Chris Mueller.
The creative team includes Keith Tittermary (musical direction), Scott Rink (choreographer), Linden Tailor (fight choreographer), Ethan Sinnott (scenic design), Corey Frank (lighting design), Emily VanDervort (costume design), and Chris Baine (sound design).
