Tony Award winner Len Cariou will play former U.S. president Richard Nixon in a Canadian production of Peter Morgan’s Frost/Nixon, which will premiere at the Playhouse Theatre in Vancouver, September 13-October 4 and then play the Canadian Stage Company’s Bluma Appel Theatre in Toronto, October 13-November 8.

The production, which will co-star David Storch as British talk show host David Frost, will be directed by Ted Dykstra. Additional casting and creative team will be announced at a later date.

Previously seen in London and on Broadway, Frost/Nixon concerns Frost’s quest to do a series of television interviews with Nixon in 1977, three years after he resigned from the White House. A film version, featuring Broadway stars Frank Langella and Michael Sheen, is due out later this year.

Cariou’s many Broadway credits include Sweeney Todd, Proof, A Little Night Music, Applause, Teddy and Alice, and The Dinner Party. He has worked at such esteemed regional theaters as the Guthrie and the Geffen, and at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
