Tommy Tune to Premiere Forever 54 at University of Miami
The theater's season will kick off with Night Train to Bolina, a play written and directed by Pulitzer Prize-winner Nilo Cruz (September 14-24). The work is set in an unidentified, war-torn Latin American country where two peasant youths, Mateo and Clara, create an imaginary world to cope with the starvation and oppression of their daily lives
Up next will be a new production of Federico Garcia Lorca's The House of Bernarda Alba, featuring a new translation by Cruz and Karin Coonrod, which is being presented in a professional collaboration with the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, where it will be performed (October 13-30).
The theater's season will be rounded out by production of George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber's comedy Stage Door (February 15-25), and the musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, by Stephen Sondheim, Larry Gelbart, and Bert Shevlove (April 11-21).
