June 18 – August 20
*No class on 7/2 or 7/30
Whether you are new to acting, or an experienced student looking to deepen your practice, this course will sharpen your instrument and enhance your process. We will begin by focusing on vocal and physical exercise, games, and improvisation, before moving into script analysis and scene study. Our kinetic, impulse driven approach will help you cultivate an acting practice that allows you to work from a place of grounded spontaneity and natural responsiveness.
*In order to participate in scene-work, students are asked to commit to the full 8 sessions of the course (except in cases of illness or emergency). The first four classes are important for laying the groundwork for our scene work, establishing connections with your fellow actors, and allowing the teacher to get to know you. If you are interested in the class, but have conflicts that prevent you from coming to 3 or more sessions, you are welcome to join the class when possible, but may not be assigned a scene as attendance is vital for your scene partner.
