About the Show

Parade is the true story of Leo Frank, a Jewish factory manager who was wrongly convicted of the murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan in 1913 Atlanta. The musical covers not only the trial, but also dramatizes the love story between Leo and his wife Lucille. It also examines the issues of class, race relations, and prejudice that were threatening to destroy “the new South.” Produced by Atlanta’s Theater of the Stars, this musical drama is directed by multiple Tony Award-winner Harold Prince. The book was written by Pulitzer Price and Tony Award-winning Atlanta native Alfred Uhry, with music and lyrics by Tony Award-winner for Best Original Score, Jason Robert Brown, and co-conceived by Harold Prince.
