The Tattooed Girl

Theater J presents the world premiere of The Tattooed Girl. Written by Joyce Carol Oates, this adaptation of her critically acclaimed 2003 novel of the same name (albeit with a radically different ending) charts the intimate, tension-filled relationship between a brilliant disease-addled Jewish writer–a wealthy, famous son of Holocaust survivors–and his new personal assistant, the eponymous Alma, carrying with her a hardscrabble past of rural dysfunction, drug addiction, and frightening jags of anti-Semitism.
