The Sand Storm: Stories from the Front

The Sand Storm is based on Sean Huze’s firsthand experiences in Iraq, where he served with the US Marine Corps’ Second Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in 2003, during the invasion of Iraq. His sense of duty and patriotism led Huze to enlist in the Marine Corps on September 12, 2001. The same sense of duty and patriotism inspired him to write the play. After being injured while conducting combat operations, he returned to the US to find it a very different place.
