About This Show

Based on the Henry James 1881 novella, Washington Square, The Heiress is about a young plain-Jane Catherine Sloper, daughter of wealthy widower Dr. Austin Sloper. Catherine lacks most of the social graces, thanks in great part to the domineering attitudes of her father. She falls in love with handsome and charming Morris Townsend. However, Dr. Sloper sees things differently, believing Morris is a fortune Hunter. John Going directs this play by Augustus and Ruth Goetz.
