The Beggar’s Opera

Love, marriage and social conventions collide in 18th-century London. The Beggar’s Opera, a rarely produced comedy from 18th century, is widely acknowledged to be the first satirical musical of its kind, and a predecessor to the modern musical.

There will be a pre-show discussion with Tom Pedersen on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m., before the 2 p.m. matinee.
