About This Show

Monster is by Neal Bell and adapted from Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.” The arctic wind howls as a solitary figure races – as if hunted – across the ice. Suddenly, he collapses. A passing ship’s captain, a chance witness, rushes to the lone man’s aid. When the captain approaches him, he stirs. “Go!” the man pleads frantically. “Go before the doom that shadows me falls on you as well.” He is Victor Frankenstein: scientist, inventor, student of the occult. His story unravels, revealing a single-minded inquisition into the alchemy of life and death. But then Frankenstein speaks with terror of his creation – a creature, stitched together from stolen cadavers and jolted to life – who now relentlessly seeks restitution for Frankenstein’s rejection – the deeply haunting refrain of the abandoned creature reverberates in the doctor’s eyes: “Who made me? Why am I alive?”
There is an additional matinee on Thursday, Aug 7 at 2pm
