Adapted for the stage by Simon Moore, Stephen King’s Misery comes to the Town Hall Theatre.
Popular romance novelist Paul Sheldon retires each winter to Colorado to write another work featuring heroine Misery Chastain. Driving while inebriated, he loses control of his car. When he regains consciousness, Paul is in a filthy, dilapidated farmhouse, cut off from the outside world by a blizzard. Annie, the schizophrenic occupant, insists she is his number one fan and will nurse him. With his legs crushed, Paul has no choice. But when Annie discovers that his new book is not about Misery, she forces him to destroy it and write another – thus beginning a descent into a living hell of pain, humiliation and degradation.
