About the Show
Tribute Productions presents Karen L.B. Evans’ Leaving the Summer Land. The show, inspired by the Migration series of paintings by Jacob Lawrence, focuses on a small group of terribly oppressed sharecroppers in Mississippi who move to Chicago in hopes of a better life. The drama utilizes Lawrence’s paintings in its design.
